Shards with sown wheat grass to experience and document the Adonis (youth) cycle of life and death.
Shards with sown wheat grass to experience and document the Adonis (youth) cycle of life and death.
This is my Adonis garden: my celebration of male beauty and lamentation for the dead youth. I bought a bag of wheatgrass seeds from a store and planted the seeds on a shallow surface covered with moist dirt. Within a week the garden grew into beautiful green carpets. I carefully sprayed the weeds with water almost every other hour in the midst of the hot summer weather to keep them alive, as they were planted in broken pots. They were planted directly under a strong summer sun. This activity stems from Adonis and celebrates the half of the year we know as the summer solstice.
